Northern Tier - 2014

Registration is open for 2015 Summer Wilderness Canoe Trips. Participants must be 14 years old OR completed 8th grade and be 13 years old by the time of arrival. Fees for crews of 6-11 participants begin at $75 per participant per night, with trips ranging from 6-11 days, or approximately $850-$1300 including travel. Please note that the weight limit averages around 200 pounds per participant, including gear.

Florida Sea Base - 2015

Troop 526's older scouts are interested in attending Florida Sea Base in 2015. Scouts must be 14 at the time of participation, and the registration lottery runs from January 15th to February 15th, 2014 for the following year (2015). Not including travel and extra sight-seeing, a six-night, seven-day Bahamas or St. Thomas adventure begins at $6,250, while a Keys Adventure starts at $785.

Philmont Scout Ranch - 2016

The troop is in the beginning stages of planning a trek through Philmont Scout ranch in 2016. Scouts must be 14 at the time of participation, and the registration lottery runs from October 28 - December 3, 2014 (two years before the trek). Including travel but not extra sight-seeing, a seven-day trek begins at $1000 and a 12-day trek at $1300. 7-12 members comprise each crew attending. philmontscoutranch.org

National Jamboree - 2013

Troop 526 had a contingent and a few staff members going to the National Jamboree from July 15-24, 2013! Located at the brand new Summit Betchel Reserve in West Virginia, Jambo 2013 included "high adventure like you've never seen!" Whitewater, climbing, zip lines, mountain biking, aquatics, and many more activities are listed on the Summit website, avaialble for all participants.

Tinnerman Canoe Base

For several trips Troop 526 had the privilege of attending the Greater Cleveland Council's Tinnerman Canoe Base before its closing in 2011 after almost 50 years of operation. Located on the French River in Ontario, Canada, Scouts canoed over 50 miles in a given summer week among the wilderness.

High Knoll Trail

Troop 526 last attended the Blue Ridge Mountains Council's High Knoll Trail in 1999. This demanding hiking experience would be a great preparation for those attending Philmont and is located in Hiwassee, VA.
